Haydn Thomas: Product Designer

Project: Hornit Cycle Horn
Client: Hornit
Project: Children's Electronic Scooter & Cycle Horn
Design and development of a children's version of Hornit's already successful adult electronic cycle horn. The brief was to build a brand around the aesthetic of the original product but to add more character and fun to make it appealing to children.
Having created a slightly down-sized version of the hornit body shape, the original mounting system was replaced for simple silicone straps which were shaped to look like hornet wings. A light function with different modes was also added which was finished off with a bug-eye lens. Lastly, a selection of colour-ways was presented with bright, contrasting colours.
In addition to designing the product, we also manufactured the final solution and presented some fun packaging solutions too.
